Golf Simulators in Kyoto
42 indoor golf and simulator venues in Kyoto, with prices, opening hours and whether you can walk in without a membership.

Kyoto has more indoor golf than most visitors expect — we counted 42 venues across the city and the wider prefecture. Almost none of them advertise in English.
This page is the short version of what we found. It is written for people who are in Kyoto for a few days and want to hit balls, not for residents signing a yearly contract.
- Most venues are membership-only. Of the 42 we surveyed, 16 accept one-off visitors.
- Almost nobody advertises English support. Exactly one venue — 祇園カントリークラブ (Gion Country Club) — states multilingual service, in seven languages.
- Expect ¥1,870–¥6,600 for a one-off session depending on the venue and time of day.
- Booking is usually online or by LINE, and often in Japanese only. Several venues are unstaffed and open 24 hours, entered with a code or QR.
- Clubs are commonly free to borrow, but gloves and shoes often are not. One venue lends nothing at all.
For a visitor with no equipment and no Japanese, Gion Country Club is the realistic choice: it is a golf bar three minutes from Gion-Shijo Station, open 19:00–05:00, lends clubs, gloves and shoes free of charge, takes same-day walk-ins when a booth is free, and has a website in seven languages. It is not cheap — ¥12,000 for two hours in a standard booth — but nothing else in Kyoto removes as many obstacles at once. It closes on Sundays and public holidays.
Booking
Most venues take reservations through a Japanese-language web form or through LINE, the messaging app used almost universally in Japan. A few take phone bookings only. FIRST THE GOLF Kyoto Station requires advance booking and does not accept same-day walk-ins. Gion Country Club and 円町インドア GOLF CLUB KING will take you on the day if a bay is free.
Unstaffed venues
Ten of the 42 venues run unstaffed around the clock. You enter with a keypad code, a QR code or a smartphone. Five of them do not publish how entry works, so if you are visiting for the first time, pick a venue with staff on site — or one that publishes its method, such as スキマゴルフ 京都西院店, which lists its door code openly.
Equipment
Eleven venues lend equipment free of charge, but the contents differ. Only トライホークス (Katsura and Uji) and Gion Country Club include gloves. BIRDIES' CLUB Nijo lends nothing — bring your own clubs. Left-handed players should check first: 京都リーガルゴルフクラブ uses a right-handed-only simulator and cannot accommodate you at all.
Payment
ゴルフクリエイト in Yawata does not accept cash — card, e-money or QR payment only. Most others accept cash, but few state this explicitly.
Rainy days
All 42 venues are indoors, which is the practical appeal during the June–July rainy season and in midsummer. The venues near Kyoto Station, Kawaramachi and Karasuma-Oike are all within a short walk of a subway station.
